YOUR HIVE STUDIO & Gallery

Our members rent their own semi-private space that serves as both a studio and a retail gallery space. Artist spaces can be designed and organized according to what works for that particular artist-member. The beauty of this system is that while creating your own unique space, you are also part of the larger HIVE Collective that promotes Makers on-site, and also a robust marketing strategy that will encourage and grow your retail sales potential from the very beginning. Your studio/gallery will be part of Franklin’s monthly art crawl gathering as well as other special events throughout the year. Being part of HIVE is an incredible opportunity to have retail space in the Factory at a nominal fee.

Starting at $375/month with a 6 month agreement

The Hive Gallery

If what you need is simply a smaller retail spot to exhibit and sell your work, we also have a few spots in the HIVE Gallery that are exclusively gallery space. These spaces are perfect for the artist that already has a studio and simply wants the opportunity to open up their retail market. Currently there are 2 of these spots available and they’ll go fast!

250.00/month with a 6 month agreement // 160 sq. ft. of wall space in center of gallery

The Factory at Franklin

Hive is located inside the Factory at Franklin - one of our community’s hotspots for Events, Shopping, Dining and Working. Being at the Factory means high visibility, retail sales opportunities and networking with other artists and potential patrons. We’ll also be hosting seasonal maker markets which will showcase the work of HIVE members. The Factory is simply a beautiful space to work with loads of natural light, beautiful common areas inside and out and an array of great spots to eat.

Who’s running this place anyway?

Lee White (Illustrator) and David Braud (Photographer) look to be the ones behind all this. Lee is an accomplished book illustrator and fine artist who also runs a successful online illustration school. David is a freelance photographer who also taught photography and curated the art gallery at O’More College of Design in Franklin for 7 years. Lee grew up in Nashville, moved to Portland, and moved back to Franklin 3 years ago. David has been in Franklin since graduating from the University of Georgia in 1996. David and Lee were both members of the Franklin Creative Suite in Franklin and have some solid experience running this type of operation.
