Hi, I'm David
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working with individuals and couples who feel stuck in painful relational patterns, anxiety, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, or disconnection from themselves and the people they care about.
My approach is relational, experiential, and grounded in slowing down enough to better understand what’s happening beneath the surface — emotionally, relationally, and within the nervous system.
I believe therapy can become a space not only for insight, but for greater clarity, steadiness, and connection.

People do therapy for all kinds of reasons.
Why are you here?
I'm tired of overthinking everything.
Something feels wrong but I can't fully explain it.
I’m exhausted from carrying everything alone.
I keep acting in ways that I regret afterward.
We keep having the same fight over and over.
I say "yes" to everyone and end up drained.
I feel responsible for everyone else’s emotional well-being.
Part of me wants closeness, and part pushes people away.
I’m tired of repeating the same painful patterns.
I don’t know how to quiet my mind down.
I feel emotionally overwhelmed by even small things lately.
I feel trapped between wanting growth and fearing failure.

What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and explore what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll spend a few minutes reviewing practice policies and logistics, then focus on your story, current challenges, and what you hope might begin to change. You don’t need to have everything figured out beforehand. We’ll move at a comfortable pace and begin identifying goals collaboratively. Just as importantly, the first session is also an opportunity for you to see whether the space feels supportive and like a good fit for you.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions for individuals and couples located in Tennessee. While I personally value the depth and presence that can come with meeting in person, online therapy can still be a highly effective and meaningful way to engage in the therapeutic process — especially when scheduling, distance, or life circumstances make in-person sessions difficult. All that’s needed is a secure internet connection and a private, comfortable space where you can speak openly and confidentially.
What are your rates and do you accept insurance?
Individual therapy sessions are $175, and couples therapy sessions are $225. While I do not accept insurance, I believe therapy should be as accessible as possible and am happy to offer a limited sliding scale when needed. Please feel free to inquire about sliding scale availability or any questions related to fees and payment.
How often do people typically schedule therapy sessions?
How often therapy sessions are scheduled is ultimately up to you, but there are some general guidelines that can help therapy feel more effective and consistent. I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions for at least the first 4 weeks so we can build momentum, establish rapport, and begin working more intentionally with patterns and goals. As therapy progresses, many people choose to transition to bi-weekly sessions depending on their needs, schedule, and how things are going. For some longer-term clients, I also offer monthly sessions as a way to maintain support and continue the work over time.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple. You can reach out through the contact form on the website or contact me directly to schedule an initial session or a free 15-minute consultation call. I understand that beginning therapy — or even reaching out for the first time — can feel vulnerable or uncertain, and there’s no pressure to have everything figured out beforehand. The consultation is simply an opportunity to connect, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
